Why MaritimeTest exists

Most people who sit these exams are not studying for fun — they are preparing for a job, very often their first contract at sea. MaritimeTest is built for them: a straightforward tool to study the test in front of you, and a knowledge base you can come back to, so that preparing for work at sea is one less obstacle in a difficult time to find it.

We are not a big company, and we charge only what it takes to keep the service running and to keep improving it. And we would rather a seafarer study than skip it: cadets, students and anyone just starting out — write to us and we will arrange a discount.

What we publish

• Study guides for each test — a short, plain-English summary of the subject, with the sources it is based on.
• PDF downloads of every guide, free.
• Practice tests — a free preview of the first questions with answers, and full access (online study and offline download) for subscribers or a single purchase.

How the study guides are made

Each guide is written from the subject itself — not from any test provider's wording — and compiled from primary industry sources: STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, COLREGs, the ISM and IMSBC Codes, the LSA and FSS Codes, ISO standards and IMO guidance, together with established industry practice. Every guide is cross-checked against the official documents and lists its sources at the end. Where a point cannot be verified against a source, we leave it out rather than guess.

Accuracy and corrections

Safety content has to be right. If you spot an error or an outdated reference in a guide, tell us and we will correct it — that feedback is how the material stays accurate.

Independence

MaritimeTest is operated from Moldova and is not affiliated with CES, CBT, SETS, Mintra or any other test provider. Provider and product names are used only to describe the exams the material helps you prepare for.
